![]() The PS one also lacks the original PlayStation's parallel and serial ports. The PlayStation is now officially abbreviated as the "PS1" or "PS one." There were three differences between the "PS one" and the original, the first one being cosmetic change to the console, the second one was the home menu's Graphical User Interface, and the third being added protection against the mod-chip by changing the internal layout and making previous-generation mod-chip devices unusable. ![]() The PS one is fully compatible with all PlayStation software. Sony also released a small LCD screen and an adaptor to power the unit for use in cars. It was released in July 7, 2000, and went on to outsell all other consoles-including Sony's own brand-new PlayStation 2 -throughout the remainder of the year. The PS one is about one-half times smaller than the original PlayStation (38 mm × 193 mm × 144 mm versus 45 mm × 260 mm × 185 mm). On an unrelated note, can I use my Slim PlayStation 2's power supply on the PSone without risking it burning out due to extra voltage(the PSone power supply is rated 7.5V, while the Slim PlayStation 2's is 8.5V).The PS one (also PSone, PSOne, or PS1), launched in 2000, is Sony 's smaller (and redesigned) version of its PlayStation video game console. What should be the resistance on the POTs? And where are they located(I have my working PSone open as I'm typing this, and I assume that the POT is on the ribbon cable?)? SCPH-1001(this one had its entire CD-ROM drive replaced with that of a dead PSone because the original drive has a dead motor) I need the POT locations for the following PlayStation revisions: ![]() The problem is that I don't know the location of the POTs. ![]() I had some disc read problems with the PlayStation 2 that were fixed by a slight tweak of the POTs on the laser, and I'm pretty sure the same can be done on the original PlayStation. When I'm playing a game with streaming music(mainly Gradius Deluxe Pack, Salamander Deluxe Pack Plus and Gradius Gaiden), the music will start to skip mid-game and will progressively get worse until, when worst comes to worst, it stops reading the discs entirely. They all work, but the all share one common problem: disc read issues mid-game. ![]() I have 3 working PlayStations, 2 fat gray models and one smaller PSone model. ![]()
